HOA Tree Trimming, Property Management, Multi-Family Properties, and Apartment Complexes
Seattle Tree Service Company Experienced in Working with Property Managers
At Pacific Arboriculture, we are experienced arborists working with property managers across Seattle and surrounding cities. We know that many homeowners associations share the same goal of keeping their communities safe while addressing the directions from the Boards of Directors. We provide tree management services that fit within any HOA tree policy. In the end, our goal is to provide exceptional tree trimming services that keep everyone happy and safe.
Customized Property Management & HOA Tree Services
We have created our Commercial Tree Division to address tree management services for property managers from Seattle to Tacoma. Our dedicated team handles our commercial accounts and provides clear communication throughout the process to quickly and efficiently manage the needs of our commercial and community clients.
Goals and budget for the community
When you meet with our dedicated team, you can tailor a program for tree management services that fits perfectly within HOA rules on trees and budget.
Long-term plan for community needs
What are the long-term needs for your community, and how can we help you accomplish them? Working together, we’ll piece together a maintenance routine that creates and maintains healthy, beautiful trees that align with your HOA tree policy.
Assessment of immediate needs
To perform an assessment of the immediate tree service needs of the HOA, we can walk through the property on our own or meet with you on-site. Afterward, we send an itemized proposal for you to review all your options. The big things we look for on a property are:
- Building clearance for insurance coverage
- Walkway, parking, and security lighting clearance
- Hazard and risk reduction
- Infrastructure protection
HOA Tree Care
Your property’s landscape and the trees surrounding your house both play a significant role in your home’s value and curb appeal. According to The Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers, a single mature tree can have an appraised value in the thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars! Keeping trees safe and healthy in a homeowners association is critical to reducing liability, maintaining city compliance, and creating a more desirable neighborhood that benefits the entire community.
HOA Tree Trimming
It is essential to understand the unique needs of homeowners associations and offer budget-friendly tree management services. To assess these needs, one of our ISA Certified Arborists identifies any immediate concerns that could cause damage to people or property. Such problems include dead, dying, or diseased trees, broken limbs, and tree roots causing damage to sidewalks. Then we’ll send an itemized proposal that can be broken down into smaller projects to fit your budget if necessary.
How Can I Get My HOA to Remove Trees?
Your HOA may have a landscaping company performing routine property maintenance. However, landscapers are not qualified to give trees the care they need and are not typically concerned with the health of the trees around your property. Professional landscapers specialize in horticulture, which is the care of plants and shrubs. The vast majority do not specialize or even have licenses in arboriculture, which is the specialized field of study related specifically to trees. Regardless of your HOA tree removal policy, it’s important to trust the safe removal of trees to a tree management service.
Multi-Family Unit Tree Care
While providing tree management services for our clients with multi-family properties, we understand the importance of risk mitigation, liability, and balancing budgets. When we’re contacted for a consultation to maintain properties and set a tree care budget, a few things our ISA Certified Arborists take into consideration are:
- Tree clearance along walkways, driveways, and lighting for safety
- Proper building clearance for insurance compliance and carports to prevent maintenance issues
- Required clearance over streets, sidewalks, and fire lanes for regulatory compliance
- Identifying hazards and at-risk trees that pose a risk of damaging people or property
- Identifying trees that pose infrastructure concerns, such as roots damaging sidewalks and large tree species that will outgrow the area
Apartment Complex Tree Care
While managing trees in homeowners associations and apartment complexes may be a little different, much of our goals are ultimately the same. We understand the need to maintain a safe apartment complex community while also maintaining a welcoming environment for residents. Here are a few different ways we provide tree services for apartment complexes:
- Observe, address, and inform you of any issues on-site
- Locate and take care of any potential liabilities, such as removal of broken branches or dying trees
- Increase curb appeal and support the health of the trees with proactive pruning
Regulations for Arborists HOA Tree Services
Landscaping vs. Arborists – What's the Difference?
Did you know it is illegal for landscaping companies to work on trees or plants over 15 feet tall? Any pruning, trimming, or cutting of that size of tree requires a special license and insurance coverage in Washington. If any HOA grounds maintenance crews were to work on the trees in your HOA, their L&I coverage and General Liability Insurance might choose not to cover damages that may occur to people or property from untrained workers. Allowing landscapers to trim trees over 15 feet tall is unprofessional and dangerous!
Allowing HOA landscape maintenance crews to maintain taller trees can pose serious risks. Any dead wood in the tree’s canopy can fall, causing injuries to people and damaging property. Whole tree failure can occur in wind, snow, and ice storms. Much of these risks can be minimized or completely avoided with an assessment from ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified Certified Arborist. When it comes to your trees, know which experts to call. At Pacific Arboriculture, nothing is more important to us than the health and prosperity of your trees.
We are all your tree needs!
